This series shows details of architectural situations in Gwangju/
South Korea, a city, whose history is inextricably linked to the
democratisation of the country.
The term "formation" has various meanings, it can describe formal
arrangements, in a certain way structured social organisations,
economic or similar systems, but also the process of emergence
of such phenomena. Accordingly, the photographs not only show
a side by side of different materials, colours and architectural
styles; but also a temporality that points beyond the moment
and that is both a testimony to the past and a question about
the future.
