The saying "when in rome, do as the romans do" could be
translated as "go with the flow", which was also the self-
imposed instruction for this work.
However, the flow was mainly dictated by tourists, whose
movements guided me as I drifted aimlessly through the city,
taking photos as non-judgementally as possible without looking
through the camera, just by roughly aiming and releasing the shutter.
This erratic approach is the attempt to reverse and expand the visitor's
view to a certain extent, and thus, rather en passant, to describe an
urban space, that oscillates between auratic charge and inadequacy
as a kind of Gesamtkunstwerk.
